The Brian Sowers Legacy Tournament is a 100% payback plus the addition of sponsorship money. The additional sponsorship money will be split 66.5% to the Pro Division and 33.5% to the Amateur Division.
All sponsorship packages include $200 in dinner tickets. That $200 goes into the scholarship fund and the remainder goes to the additional tournament payouts.
All tournament entries include a $25 dinner ticket until seats run out. There are only 300 seats available. If you enter the tournament after the dinner event is sold out, that $25 still goes to the scholarship dinner fund. This is a scholarship fundraiser tournament event.
The registration through Crappie Anglers of Texas cannot add an exact 4% charge for credit cards. The price for processing cards for registration with the option to add dinner tickets varies from $5 to $16. We chose to add a $10 processing fee to meet this in the middle. Likewise on the additional dinner tickets. The price for processing cards for dinner tickets only will cost $1 to $8, we chose $5 to meet this in the middle. If there are any overflow in credit card charge funds, those funds will go into the scholarship dinner fund.
Marion County is covering the majority of the weekends expenses, and we are continuously working to get the remainder covered in donations. IF it is not 100% covered, any remaining expenses for the weekends events will be deducted from the money raised for the dinner event, not from tournament winnings.
Tournament winnings will be paid as listed on the Tournament Registration page.
At the close of the event, Crappie Anglers of Texas will present a check to Jefferson ISD to distribute in scholarships at their discretion. Jefferson ISD will have an application process in which they will approve and distribute each scholarship ensuring the money goes towards education in the name of Brian Sowers Legacy.
Here's to paying it forward in Brian's name, giving the next generation "a tacklebox, not an X box" and the tools for life through higher education.
